Carl W. “Bill” Bessette Jr.
ESSEX JUNCTION - Carl W. "Bill" Bessette Jr., 55, of Essex Jct. died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 in the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born in Burlington on March 9, 1955, the son of Carl W. Sr. and Norma (Shortsleeves) Bessette. Bill attended Burlington schools and graduated from Burlington High School. He attended VT Police Academy and had worked as a police officer <http://www.legacy.com/legacies/police-officers/?personid=145798254&affiliateID=2506> for the City of Burlington. He currently had been employed for over 20 years with Casella Waste Management. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing and going hunting with his hunting buddies. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Melissa M. Bessette of Burlington, and Jennifer L. Bessette of Colchester; five grand- children; sisters and brother, Sandra and David Barnes, Elaine Durand, Debra and Anthony Izzo, Laurie and Timothy Lewis and Brian and Joan Bessette; many nieces and nephews; his hunting buddies, Dick, Jim and Don; and his cat, Reckless. He was predeceased by his parents. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington.
