      ......in the Crompton Block on Mechanic Street. Having outgrown their quarters, they moved to Front Street, and five years later removed to a large factory building in the rear of 560-2 Main Street. In 1895 the firm was dissolved, and Mr. Fletcher sold his interests to his partner, who moved the business to Laconia, New Hampshire. In 1896, he formed the Lincoln Shoe Company of Worcester. About 1908 he established the Reversible Tube Cleaner Company at 26 Southbridge Street, and about 1927 removed to 456 Park Avenue with the company name changed to the Worcester Brush and Scraper Company. He served in the Common Council in 1892 and 1893, and was elected mayor of the city in 1902 and re-elected by an increased majority in 1903. Edward F. Fletcher married first, Mary E. Milant who died in 1881. After her death, he married second, Helen Bassett, of whom was born Raymond Bassett Fletcher, described below. She died in 1893, and he married third, Florence Bassett, the sister of his deceased wife.
      Raymond Bassett Fletcher, of the tenth generation, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1890. He received his early education in the public schools of Worcester, and was a graduate of Dartmouth College and of Harvard Law School in 1916. After he was admitted to the bar he became a partner in the law firm of Cowee and Fletcher with offices in the Park Building in Worcester. He died in Shrewsbury in 1924 when only thirty-four years old, the result of a tragic accident when the horse he was driving, bolted, and he was thrown from his carriage against a stone wall in front of his home. Raymond B. Fletcher married first, Lora Childs who died in 1919. After her death he married second, Ann Harlow by whom he had three children, Jean, Edward Harlow, described below, and Sally Ann Fletcher.
      Edward Harlow Fletcher, of the eleventh generation, was born in Worcester, Massachusestts, in 1922. He moved to Shrewsbury with his parents as a child, and attended the public schools in that town, and Worcester Junior College. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and was discharged in 1955. He resides in Shrewsbury, and is employed by the town as a foreman in the sewer and water departments. He married Rita Lois Manson, of Mansonville, Quebec, by whom he has three children: Raymond M., born 1946, Richard H., born 1951, Sharon A. born 1957.
