Joan Paul DiFilippo, 23, of 67 Greenridge Drive, Dalton, Ma., died Saturday in West Palm Beach, Florida where he has resided for 3 months. Born on October 3, 1979 in Pittsfield, Ma. the son of John D. and Janice A. Bassett DiFilipp. He attended Saint Agnes Elementary School in Dalton, Ma. and also attended school in Pittsfield he was a 1998 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also attended Berkshire Community College. While in Florida he had worked in retail at Macys Department Store in West Palm Beach, Florida and while living in Dalton he had been employed for Price Chopper on Hubbard Ave. in Pittsfield as a stock clerk. He was a communicant of Saint Agnes Church and had served there as a altar server in his younger years. He enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding and enjoyed the ocean. Besides his parents of Dalton, Ma. He leaves his sister, Amy M. DiFilippo of Pittsfield, MA.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for John Paul DiFilippo, 23, who died February 22, 2003 will be held Thursday at 12 Noon at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St. Dalton, Ma. with the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes Church officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield, Ma. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to the Thomas W. McGee Unit at Hillcrest Campus. 165 For Court, Pittsfield. Or in care of the funeral home. John Paul is also lovingly survived by a niece, Jocelyn and a nephew, Alex. Also survived by four uncles, Charles and Stephen Bassett, Francis Wilk and Philip Volpi, and 3 aunts, Judith Volpi, Angela Wilk and Agnes Kowalsky. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Margaret Bassett and Santo and Maria DeFilippo. also predeceased by a aunt Susan Bassett.
