Mary Dammann
Mary Dammann, 96, of Springfield, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Springfield, with burial in Sanborn City Cemetery, Sanborn.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
She is survived by children, Stanley and wife Marcella of Lamberton, Gerald of Sanborn, Elden and wife Elna of Sanborn, Ardell and husband Colbert Bassett of Rushmore, and Melva and husband Albert Ochs of Faribault; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; grandson, Bryan; and brothers and sisters, Edward Radtke, Herman Radtke, Otto Radtke, Ida Werner, Fred Radtke, Lena Eliason, Albert Radtke, Lillian Wolfe, Gertrude Dammann, Louis Radtke, Amanda Kuck, Clarence Radtke, and Florence Flaig.
She was born April 2, 1903, in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, to Edward and Agusta (Wendt) Radtke. She attended country school. She married Herman "Shorty" Dammann on Sept. 1, 1921, in Windom. They farmed in rural Sanborn until moving to Springfield in 1962. She was a former member of United Methodist Church, Springfield. She moved to St. John Lutheran Home in 1995.
