Wilma Van Cleave
ARNOLD - Wilma Frances Bassett Van Cleave of Arnold died Aug. 9, 2001. She was 90.
She was born Oct. 21, 1910, in the Pleasant Hill area between Arnold and Merna to William C. and Flora Thanel Bassett. She attended school at Arnold and graduated in 1928.
On May 25, 1948, she married Howard Van Cleave in North Platte. They made their home in the Pleasant Hill and Cliff Table communities until 1952, when they purchased a ranch in the Mildale area. They lived on the Lost Cabin Ranch for 37 years. They moved to Arnold in 1989.
She enjoyed the river, nature, cattle, calves, turkeys, crocheting, playing cards, traveling and church activities. She was a member of the Altar Society for 65 years.
Mrs. Van Cleave is survived by her husband; a sister, Mable Hahn of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Alice Van Cleave of Callaway; seven nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Margaret; a brother, Walter; three sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arnold. Burial will be in the Arnold Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the Arnold Funeral Home.
