Bernadette M. (Caoutte) Bessette ? Attleboro
Bernadette M. (Caouette) Bessette, 91 formerly of Park Street, who previously worked in her family?s laundry business, died yesterday at Madonna Manor, North Attleboro.
She was the wife of the late Herve L. Bessette. Born in Fitchburg, Mass., a daughter of the late Arthur and Eliza (Lafleur) Caoutte, she had lived in Attleboro since 1989, and had previously lived in Central Falls.
Mrs. Bessette worked at the former family business, Bessette?s Launderette, Central Falls, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eugene T. Lefebfre Post, Central Falls, Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary?s Church, Seekonk. She was a member of the St. Anne?s Sodality and the Women?s Club of Notre Dame Church, Central Falss.
She leaves a son, Gerard L. Bessette of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters,
Claire Lockwood of South Attleboro and Lorraine McKinlay of Melbourne; and 9
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late
Alfred, Frank, Charles and Yvonne Caouette, Flora Butler, Aurelie Langevin,
Elizabeth Hebert, Aldea Dubrule and Sister Aurelie of the Prescious Blood,
Daughter of the Holy Ghost.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 7:45 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary
of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian
Burial at 8:30 in St. Mary's Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk. Burial will be in
the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
