Bob Bassett
Bob Bassett went to be with the Lord Sept. 11, 1993. Bob was born to Evelyn C. and Earl Bassett on Nov. 15, 1929, both who preceded him in death. He was a 1949 graduate of Capitol Hill High School and was a Mechanical Contractor since 1960. Bob gave his heart and lief to the Lord in 1980 and continued to grow in the Lord and serve him. Bob became active in Bible Study Fellowship and had been to a workshop Saturday morning in preparation for a leadership role which was to begin September 13. He was a member of Covenant Community Church for 5 years and previously was a member of South Lee United Methodist Church. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Couts Bassett of the hom; son, Earl "Butch" and wife, Debbie Bassett of Mustang; daughter, Linda and husband, Derel Cornelius of Mustang; son, Mike Bassett of OKC; and grandchildren, Breana, Chalyn, and Chanda Bassett, Robbie, Ryan, Scotty, Tiffany and Lacy Cornelius all of Mustang; three sisters, Earlene Cox of Mustang, Melba Fuller of Mountainburg, Ar, and Marilyn Haynes of Mustang; brother, Harold Bassett of Banner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tues., Sept. 14, 1993, 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Community Church with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
