Ancel E. Bassett, 66, of 1665 West Fourth St., Fort Wayne, was dead on arrival at 4:07 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, at the Lutheran Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 27, in the C. M. Sloan Sons Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, with the Rev. Richard Rothman officiating. Burial followed in the Circle Cemetery near Hudson.
Mr. Bassett formerly of South Milford was the son of the late George and Sylvia Bassett. He retired two years ago from the Wayne Pump Corporation after 40 years service. He was a member of the Sherman Street Church of God in For Wayne.
Surviving are his wife, Wava; a son, Gerald Bassett, Angola; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Klopfenstine of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Garnet Christ, Richmond; six brothers, Donald, Vermont, Ill.; Russell, Whittier, Calif., Harvey, Paramount, Calif.; Bernard, Angola and Dale and Arthur, both of Kendallville and three grandchildren.
