Bassett, 85, formerly of Whitmarsh Street, a supervisor in the New England Telephone Co. for 48 years before retiring in 1968, died yesterday at St. Joseph Hospital, North Providence. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Frances (Green) Bassett, she lived at the St. Antoine's Home, North Smithfield, for the past four years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. There are no immediate survivors. A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at The Prata Home, 1488 Westminster St. Burial will be in Knotty Oak Cemetery, Coventry. Providence Journal (RI) - Wednesday, January 4, 1989
