Idaho State Journal, 14 Nov 2004 SODA SPRINGS - Helen Maryetta Hansen Bassett, 86, of Soda Springs passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs. She was born July 26, 1918, at Sharon, Idaho, the daughter of Harley Valinious and Effie Maryetta Arnell Hansen. She married Loran Henry Bassett March 18, 1935, in Soda Springs. He passed away December 1, 1975. She has lived in Soda Springs since 1942. She enjoyed doing handiwork, bowling and dancing. She loved spending time and being with her family. She is survived by five sons and three daughters, Loran Dee and Pat Bassett, Grace; Ted Eliason and Judy Bassett, Soda Springs; Alvin Leo and Sandy Bassett, Grace; Curtis King and Sue Bassett, Soda Springs; Boyd Shuell and Pauline Bassett, Soda Springs; Jeraldine and Bill Bowen, Soda Springs; Beverly Shurtleff, Soda Springs; Connie and Van Christensen, Henry, Idaho. She also is survived by 31 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son and one daughter, five brothers and five sisters. Services will be Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at noon at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs. Family will meet friends Tuesday mornign from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. Services are under the direction of Sims Funeral Home.
