Mrs. Hadden and Henry Barrett Wed
At The Baptist Paronsage
Ceremony Performed Last Thursday Evening
By Rev. F.S. Cook at Mahopac Falls.
Mahopac Falls - Mrs. Avis Hadden and Henry Barrett were united in marriage on Thursday evening, April 7, 1921, by Reverend F.S. Cook, pastor of the Baptist church. The ceremony was performed in the Baptist parsonage here.
Mr. and Mrs. Barrett enjoyed a short wedding trip and returned to Mahopac Falls on Sunday. Mr. Barrett has recently completed the erection of a new store here and is again engaged in the general merchandise business after having his store and stock destroyed by fire some time ago.
They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bassett, the bride’s daughter and husband. The bride was very beautifully attired in white satin, the daughter wearing green silk.
Uncle Henry, as the groom is commonly called throughout the community, has been a life long resident of this place, and for many years has conducted a very successful mercantile business which he continues, with his son, Charles, as partner.
The bride and groom are both members of the Baptist church, where they were in attendance the Sabbath following their marriage, when they received the congratulations of their many friends.
On Monday evening, April 11th, numerous friends serenaded them, after which they were invited to come in and light refreshments were served. Music was rendered, both vocal and instrumental, and a very pleasant evening was enjoyed by all. The happy couple are to locate in our midst. Congratulations.
This is Mr. Barrett’s fourth marriage and Mrs. Barrett’s second.
