Margaret Helen Bassett

Margaret H. Bassett, 88, of Marine City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born August 22, 1925 in Detroit to the late George & Helen Argitis. Margaret graduated from Marine City High School and continued her education at Wayne State University. She married Donald L. Bassett on July 27, 1950 in St. Martin?s Lutheran Church, Marine City. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2011. Margaret was a medical assistant with Dr. Beer in St. Clair for thirty five years. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Martin?s Lutheran Church and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, traveling, oil painting, flower arranging, making jewelry and cooking. Family remembers Margaret having an over-ambitious way of getting her way done. She is survived by her daughter, Karen A. Bassett & Randy Smith of Marine City; brother, John (Ann Marie) Argitis of Sturbridge, Massachusetts and sister-in-law, Norma Bassett. In addition to her parents and husband, Donald, she was also preceded in death by Mary Reichle, Irene Santoro, Loretta Amsbaugh, Evelyn Kulp and Ray Jacht. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 24, 2014 in St. Martin?s Lutheran Church, Marine City. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 23rd from 3-8 pm in the Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City and Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at church. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Visitation 3-8 p.m. Wednesday in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City and 10 a.m. prior to funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Marine City.
