Fred E. Bassett Jr.
Bassett Jr., Fred E., of Eustis, died Tuesday, February 1, 2006. He was born in Peru, Kansas and moved to Eustis in 1958 from Keystone Heights. He was a retired electrical enginer with RCA and the manager of their southeast service office in Atlanta. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, Eustis Lodge 1578 B.P.O.E., founded a branch of Amateur Organists International and had served as Honorary Chairman, member of the Eustis Historical Society and was selected "Orange King" of the Centennial Eustis Washington's Birthday Festival in 2002. Mr. Bassett is survived by three grandchildren, Patty Stark and Phillip Bassett both of Jacksonville and Fred E. Bassett IV of Jacksonville, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews including Donald Roth of Eustis. Memorial services will be held in The First Church of Christ of Eustis, 315 East Orange Avenue, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2006.
