Also spelled CLAXTON. Called "Sally" or "Sally Ann" Born in KY, 1880 census says mother and father born Ireland and mother and father of husband born Ky. This has been determined to be reversed. Living on Mother's farm in Owen Co KY in 1850. Father died in 1843. Signed name with "X" on deed in 1861.

1897 Sarah MULLEN (so spelled), widow of James, residing at 1104 Hackney (described as "between 11th & 12th, south of Jefferson, formally West Green"-this is present location of Baxter Park). Also residing at same location are Arvena McCormick (widow of Stephen), James A. Suter, clerk, Nannie S. Suter, dressmaker, and Austin Suter, stockkeeper L. Moses & Co. (Arvena and Austin are described as a "boarders," whereas Sarah and James are described as "residents").

Louisville KY death record states Sarah "J" Mullin (funeral home records show middle initial "J" corrected to "A"), widow, died of cancer at age 66, residence 1104 W. Green, Louisville KY (Ward 10), buried 8 Mar 1897 at Cave Hill Cem. by undertaker Cralle. Undertaker was Cralle (records now held by Highland Funeral Home, 3331 Tayorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40205). Funeral home records show she was 5 ft, 9 in. tall, bill was paid by "Mrs V. McCormack" (Venie Mullin) and "Merritt N. Mullin" (bill mailed care of Capt James Browinski, Frankfort KY, Steamer Gen. O. M. Poe). Buried in unmarked grave (section 6, range 149, grave 62) in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, KY.
DEEDS
1846, 31 Oct, Heirs to James Claxon estate, David H., Sarah A., Cassius, James N., Nancy J. Claxon sold 2 tracts (one of 58 acres, the other of unknown acres but being the same sold by John Meek to James Claxon on 22 Jun 1843) on Ky River to John C. Bates (adm of James Claxon, dec'd) for $300 (Owen Co. Deed Book J, p 100).
1865, 15 Apr, D, C, JN, NJ Claxon and S Mullin (all heirs of James Claxon) leased 108 acres on Ky River to John H. Stewart (Owen Co. Deed Book Q, p 166). 1871, 1 Jul, James D. & Sarah Ann Mullin of Louisville Ky sold to Levi Jones for $150 their 1/5 interest in 108 acres in Owen Co, "which descended to Sarah Ann Mullin (formerly Claxon) as one of the children of said Ellen Claxon, dec'd" (Owen Co deed book V, p. 41).
