Death of Mr. Henry Bassett
Funeral at Kingsland
We deeply regret to record the death of one of Leominster?s oldest and most respected tradesmen in Mr. Henry Bassett, who passed away on Saturday in his 72nd year. Mr. Bassett, who was the head of the firm of Messrs. Bassett and Sons, tailors, South Street, commenced in business on his own account many years ago, first in Hereford Road, and about 34 years ago he started the business in South Street. His wife predeceased him by about 11 years. Mr. Bassett leaves three children, Mrs. H. J. Lewis, 58, Etnam Street; Mr. Arthur Samuel Bassett, and Mr. Bernard H. Bassett, both sons having been in business with their father.
The funeral took place on Wednesday at Kingsland Churchyard, the Rector (the Rev. J. Jobling) officiating. The chief mourners were: Mr. Arthur Bassett and Mr. Bernard Bassett (sons), Mr. Charles Bassett, Kingsland (brother), Mr. J.A. Gingell (Kingsland), Mr. A.J. Lloyd, and Mr. A. Harris.
