Alice E. Bessette Bourbeau, 1912 - 2006
WEST SPRINGFIELD - Alice E. (Morneau) Bessette Bourbeau, 94, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, in West Springfield surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield to the late David and Esther (Hamel) Morneau, she attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. She was employed for many years as a laborer in the stationary department of the United States Envelope Co. from where she retired. She also worked at Carter's, American Bosch and at the Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home. Alice was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield and a past member of Holy Family Parish in Holyoke for 60 years. She was also a member of the West Springfield Senior Center where she enjoyed Bingo, a member of the West Springfield Golden Agers and the Emblem Club of West Springfield. Mrs. Bourbeau enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Maine. She was predeceased by her husbands, Clarence Bessette, Sr., 1943 and Clement Bourbeau in 1974 and her brothers, David and Roland Morneau. Alice is survived her her sons, Clarence Bessette of Chicopee and David Bessette and his wife, Gloria of Ludlow, her grandsons, Marc, Joseph, Daniel and Paul Bessette, her greatgranddaughters, Cori and Abigail Bessette. She also leaves her sisters, Cecile Robillard of East Longmeadow, Yvonne Brouillette of Ludlow, Louise Zauche of Stone Mountain, GA, Theresa Gaudreau of Tarpon Springs, FL and Lorraine Anzalotti of Tampa, FL. A Liturgy of Christan Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Pine St., West Springfield, followed by Rights of Committal in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield.
