Robert Erwin Bassett Sr.
(1938-2010)
Loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandfather, Robert Erwin Bassett Sr., passed away at home on March 25, 2010. He was born on July 9, 1938, in Flint, Michigan. He married Jocelyne (Thibault) Bassett on August 6, 1960. She preceded him in death. They lived in Shalimar, Florida.
He is survived by his brother, Barry (Mary Jo) Bassett; his children, Robin (Steve) Korogi, Tammy (Darrel) Fowers, Robert E. Bassett Jr., Jill (Lee) Pigg, and Brooke (Dan) Laskay. Loving Grandpa to Cassie (Ryan) Harris, Angela Sanchez, Brian Sorensen, Amy Dunaway, Brandy Dunaway and Cody Bassett; and great-granddaughter, Cienna Ryland.
Dad served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, retiring as a senior master sergeant. His hobbies over the years included photography, wooden model airplanes, motorcycles and recently intricate woodwork. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Mary's Catholic Church, 110 St. Mary Ave. S.W., Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548. A Mass and burial will be held at St Francis Xavier, Winooski, Vermont.
