Robert Lee Bassett
Robert Lee Bassett, 68, of Cave Creek passed away peacefully on September 8, 2008 after a short but courageous battle against cancer. Robert was born in Barberton, Ohio, on November 9, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold William Bassett and Glada Mae Page, and brother Richard. Robert is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Brenda; son, Matthew; as well as children Robert, David, Lori and Lizette of Ohio. He is also survived by sisters; Betty Osberg, Beverly Reynolds and Debbie Williams; brothers William and Harold Bassett; along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Ohio. A graduate of Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo, Robert, has served honorably as a member of the United States Air Force. After having moved to Arizona in 1965, he has since been recognized as one of this state's foremost Mechanical Engineers and owner of the well respected firm, R.L. Bassett & Associates. Bob has been an accredited lifetime member of ASHRAE and has been a prominent member of the Phoenix Social Lions Club. Most importantly he will be missed by his friends, family and two loyal companions Rosie & Roger and remembered by all as a man of great strength and genuine character. Services are being held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, he and his family have requested that donations be made to the Foothills Animal Rescue at PO Box 4865, Cave Creek, Arizona 85327 or www.foothillsanimal.org.
