Miss Jessie Bassette
LUDLOW – Miss Jessie M. Bassett, 61, of 210 Prospect St. died Monday in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. Miss Bassette was born in Ludlow, Feb. 6, 1898, daughter of the late Horace and Melvina (Baron) Bassette, and had been a lifelong resident of the town. She was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corp. for 26 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 52, of this town. She leaves five brothers, Arthur of Springfield, Albert of Ludlow, Lionel and William, both of Indian Orchard, and Horace of Westfield; a sister, Miss Lena Bassette, a nephew Ernest Bassette, with whom she made her home; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at the Ratell funeral home Thursday morning at 8.15, followed by a requiem high mass in St. John the Baptist Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.
