RUSSELL – Josephine (Youmell) Bassett, 91, of Huntington Road, formerly of Springfield, widow of Charles L. Bassett, died Sunday in a local nursing home. She was a retired seamstress at LaTrique Co., Springfield. Born in Canada, she lived in Springfield 50 years and in Russell eight years. She leaves two sons, Albert H. Of West Springfield and George A. Of Clearwater, Fla.; four daughters, Martha Cook of Russell, Irene Bassett, Ida Oertel and Lena Parker, all of Springfield; a sister, Alice St. John of Wilbraham, six grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at the Ratell Funeral Home and in St. Aloysius Church, with burial in the parish cemetery, all of Indian Orchard section of Springfield.
