Alfred S. Bessette Weds Miss Amelia Gaudrea in Warren
A pretty wedding was solemnized in Warren yesterday. Alfred Surprenant Bessette of 362 Fountain street being united to Miss Amelia Gaudrea, one of the most popular young ladies in that town.
Many of the Pleasant View relatives and friends of the groom witnessed the ceremony and the church was tastefully decorated in honor of the occasion. A mass of tropical palms and ferns being arranged about the altar with huge bouquets of white chrsyanthemums in the altar vases.
The church was filled with guests long before the arrival of the bridal couple, and the bride presented a charming appearance in a gown of white crepe de chene over white silk, with trimmings of rare old French lace. She carried a beautiful bouquet of bride roses and was attended by her father, George H. Gaudreau who gave her away.
Louis Bessette father of the groom, attended him, while the ushers were George Gaudreau of Warren, brother of the bride, Louis Bessette Jr. of Pawtucket brother of the groom, and Adelard Poirier of Providence. Elegant scarf pins were given by the groom to each of the ushers.
Following the marriage ceremony there was a pleasant reception at the home of the bride’s parents. A collation was served and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. Bessette were the recipients of numerous co?? and useful tokens of friendship and esteem.
Last evening they left for a short trip and on their return they will take up their residence at 362 Fountain street where they will be “at home” to visitors on and after Wednesday, November 1.
