Obituary
Essie Demarest, 77, died at the residence, 2 High Street, Green Island, yesterday. Born in Canada, he came to Green Island where he resided ever since. He was a carpenter and was employed by the William E. Martin Company for 28 years, retiring 14 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Survivors are his wife, the former Rose Bessette; five daughters, Mrs. Thomas Carter, Mrs. John Stamford, Mrs. Thomas Shaw, Mrs. Charles O’Rourke and Mrs. Charles Bradley; five sons, Leo, George, Omer, Albert and Thomas Demarest; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Alix and Mrs. Della Gauthier; two brothers, Felix and Frank Demarest. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the residence and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church where a requiem mass will be sung. Burial will be at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Troy.

DEMAREST (Desmarais) - At the residence, 2 High Street, Green Island, September 8, 1946, Esale Demarest, husband of Rose Besette; father of Mrs. Thomas Carter, Mrs. John Stamford, Mrs. Thomas Shaw, Mrs. Charles O’Rourke, Mrs. Charles Bradley, Leo, George, Omer, Albert and Thomas Demarest; brother of Mrs. Rose Alix, Mrs. Della Gautheir, Felix and Frank Demarest. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the residence, Wednesday morning at 9, thence to St. Joseph’s Church where a high requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30. Burial at St. Jean de Baptist Cemetery, Troy.
