George Bessette, of 20 Devlin Street, Cohoes, died yesterday after a brief illness. Born at St. Johns, Province of Quebec, Canada, he was a resident of Cohoes for more than fifty years. He was employed as a tailor at Wells & Coverly, Inc., Troy, for the last several years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. Surviving are his wife, Julia Berthiaume Bessette; two daughters, Miss Bertha Bessette and Mrs. Eugene Snay, both of Cohoes; one son, Gaspard Bessette of Cohoes; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Galipeau, of Cohoes, and one brother, Henry H. Bessette of Cohoes. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning from the residence, and later from St. Patrick’s Church. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
