Rollin Bassett
Rollin Bassett, 65, died last night after a short illness at his home, 269 Chapman street. He was born in Heath, the son of William Bassett, and lived in that town, where he was a prosperous farmer, until 23 years ago, when he retired and came to Greenfield. He leaves a widow, three daughters, Mrs. Carroll Everett of Poland Springs, Me.; Mrs. George Evere3tt of Noleboro, Me., and Mrs. Newton Dix of this town; four sons, William R. Bassett of Shelburne, Frank H. and Samuel D. Bassett of this town, and Arthur M. Bassett of Lansford, Pa., children of his first marriage, and a brother, Walter H. Bassett of New Bedford, formerly of Greenfield. He was a member of the Methodist church and active in all its interests. He had a fine tenor voice and formerly led the choir. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o?clock from the home. Rev. W. Henry McLean will officiate. The burial will be in Green River cemetery.

Passes Away After Short Illness at Chapman-Street Home
Rollin Bassett, 65, died Thursday after a short illness, at his home in Greenfield. He was born in Heath, the son of William Bassett. He lived in Heath, where he was occupied in farming, until 23 years ago, when he retired and came to Greenfield. He is survived by his widow; three daughters,, Mrs. Carroll Everett of Poland Springs, Me., Mrs. George Everett of Nobleboro, Me., and Mrs. Newton Dix of Greenfield; four sons, William of Shelburne, Arthur of Lansford, Pa., and Frank H. and Samuel D. of Greenfield, and a brother, Walter H. Bassett of New Bedford. He was a member of the Methodist church and active in all its interests.

He attended the public schools of Heath, Massachusetts, the Brimfield
High School, and the Power's Institute at Bernardston. He was a farmer and
dairyman in Heath. In 1898, he removed to Greenfield, Massachusetts and
purchased the Deacon Stickney homestead, where he was again a farmer and
dairyman. He was vice-president of the Vermont Lime Company.
