Stephanie Georgianna Taylor-Bessette(picture included)
Stephanie Georgianna Taylor-Bessette January 21, 1924-August 21, 2006. Stephanie was born to Irene M. Rogers and Leroy Taylor in Willamantic, Connecticut. Stephanie and her husband of 58 years, Alfred W. Bessette, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2003, settled in Security, Colorado in 1965 after 20 years in the military. Together with their four children Thaddeus Kizokowski (Aiko), Nancy Mitchell, Alfred Bessette Gannon (Patrick) and Alfred W. Bessette, Jr. they lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Germany, Puerto Rico, and Colorado. Stephanie was a member of Security Christian Church for 42 years where she was a part-time Sunday school teacher. In addition, she was a teacher's aide at Pinello Elementary School in Security. She also attended Pikes Peak Community College. She loved gardening, reading, music and Scrabble and was also a history buff. Stephanie has ten grandchildren: Joni Milton, John B. Jones (deceased), Christian Lesague, Christina Salcedo, Amy Harrington, Stephen Kosikoswki, Traci Ison, Benjamin and Samantha Bessette and Sarah Gannon. She also has eight great grandchildren. Stephanie was the fourth child in a family of 18, two of whom were stillborn. Preceding her in death were Grace, Edward, Howard, Philip and Georgianna. Her remaining siblings are Elizabeth, Gerald, George, Bill, Martha, Sandra, John (all Taylor's), Samuel Burdick and Yvette Gail Clark. All of her siblings reside in Connecticut. Stephanie had a smile that was as big as her heart and a story for all. Friends are welcome to attend the Memorial Service on Monday August 28th at 1:00 p.m. The service will be held at Memorial Gardens, Airport and Academy in Colorado Springs. A reception will immediately follow interment.
