Phillias J. Caouette
HOLYOKE – Phillias J. Caouette, 63, of 50 Lyman St., died Sunday night at Holyoke Hospital after a short illness. Born in Granby, Can., he was the son of the late Phillias and Melanie (Berube) Caouette and had been a resident of this city for the past 45 years. He was formerly employed by the J. Russell Co. of this city, and more recently had been a maintenance man for the Holyoke Street Railway Co. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Trolley Workers. Besides his wife, Alma (Bessette) Caouette, he leaves a son, Edmund of this city, and four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Flemihng, Mrs. Rita Leblond, Mrs. Gabriel Bernier, and Mrs. Yvette Hebert, all of this city; also a brother, Romeo, of Granby, Can.; a sister, Mrs. Denerise de Lorge, of Montreal, 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the Arthur J. Brunelle funeral home, Holyoke, Thursday morning at 8:15 with a solemn requiem high mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 9. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery, South Hadley falls. Calling hours at the funeral home are today and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.
