Helen Bessette, 90
FALL RIVER – Helen (Holewiak) Bessette, 90, of North Belmont Steret, died at home Friday, July 28, 2000. She was the widow of Lawrence J. “Kiddo” Bessette.
A lifelong Fall River resident, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Kunegunda (Boehnia) Holewiak. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
Mrs. Bessette was a packer for 15 years at Ideal Bias until retiring; she previously was a weaver at the Bourne Mills for 35 years.
She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Survivors include a son, Norman F. Bessette of Somerset; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Bessette of Somerset; two grandchildren, Norman F. Bessette II of Pittsburgh, and Kristine Trembley of Berkley; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 North Main St., followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.

HELEN BESSETTE, 90, of North Belmont Street, a retired packer, died Friday at home.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence J. "Kiddo" Bessette. A lifelong Fall River resident, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Kunegunda (Boehnia) Holewiak.
A member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Mrs. Bessette was a packer at Ideal Bias for 15 years, retiring 20 years ago, and had been a weaver at Bourne Mills for 35 years.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
She leaves a son, Norman F. Bessette of Somerset; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 North Main St., with a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Joseph's Church, North Main Street. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
