Bassett Livermore Journal, 7 Aug 1944 EAST LIVERMORE - Edgar H. Bassett died suddenly at his home at Strickland, Sunday at 10:30 P.M. He was born in Livermore, June 2, 1869, the son of Charles and Susan Bryant Bassett and made his home in Livermore until coming to Strickland several years ago where he worked at the Nate Sawtell grocery store for five years. He was later employed by the Burnham and Merrell corn shop, retiring three years ago. He was a member of the East Livermore Methodist Church and in 1922 married Eva Norris of Stricklan Surviving are his wife and seven children by a former marriage; Mrs. Mabel Norris of Portland, Mrs. Edith Wade of Turner, Mrs. Grace Pinkham of Auburn; Mrs. Edna Tibbetts of South Paris, Forrest Bassett of Auburn, Lester Bassett of Lewiston and Lawrence Bassett, now in New Guinea; one brother, Al Forrest of West Peru; a sister, Mrs. Mary Capre of Livermore Falls, 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
