Julia A. Davis
Julia A. Davis was born at New Lexington, O., March 26th, 1838, and
died at Weston, O., August 11th, 1917. Mrs. Davis moved to Wood coun
1852, her mother having married Alexander Pugh, who owned the farm now
occupied by Mrs. Albert Heyman.
After having completed her education she taught several terms of
school.
In January of 1858, she was married to Eugene Bassett of Grand Rapids,
O., and to them were born Frank, who died in 1880. Louise, now Mrs. Fred
Fuller of Stanton, Mich., and Annie, now Mrs. Cunningham of Peru, Kansas. Mr.
Bassett died in Sept. 1864. In 1870, she was united in marriage to Edwa
Davis, who died in 1910. This union was blessed with five children. Edward of
Rosebush, Mich.; Stella and Howard of Weston; Bertie who died in 1881, and
Arthur of Reddin, Calif.
She also leaves a stepson Waldo Davis of Bryan, O.
Mrs. Davis was a woman of rare intelligence, a kind mother and
neighbor and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her departur
She was a sister of I.W. Clayton of Bowling Green, who died three years
ago.
All of Mrs. Davis' children were at her bed-side during her last
illness.
