Mrs. Irene C. Bassett, 83, formerly of La Salle, died Thursday morning in the Golden Age Nursing home, Tomahawk, Wis.
Services will be in Tomahawk. Burial will be in Tomahawk.
Mrs. Bassett was born June 28, 1892, in La Salle to Edward and Mary Irene Burke Coleman. She married Frank Bassett April 15, 1914 in La Salle.
She lived in La Salle most of her life and moved to Tomahawk 30 years ago. In Tomahawk, she and her husband owned and operated the Bassett Points resort.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Coleman of Oglesby, Kenneth of Traverse City, Mich., and Robert of Tomahawk; two daughters, Mrs. David (Evelyn) Echols of Chicago and Mrs. Phil (Gloria) White of Tomahawk; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Sister Genevieve Coleman of the Daughters of Charity, Lake Zurich, and Sister Anne Claire Coleman of Elmhurst.
