DEATH OF W.A. BASSETT
Well Known Old Resident of West of the River is Dead
William A. Bassett, aged 45 years, died at his home two miles west of this city at 12:30 yesterday noon after an illness of about a month. About a month ago, Mr. Bassett contracted a severe case of Jugrippe, which later developed into pneumonia. He was soon on the road to recovery, however, and passed through the siege of pneumonia very well and was gaining in health up to a week ago, when it was noticed that his heard had been left in a weakened condition. Wednesday, the condition of his heart was very serious and he grew steadily worse till the end came yesterday noon.
Mr. Bassett was for some years the road supervisor of Iola township and his death will be a surprise to a host of friends. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home, Rev. A. Sampson of the Trinity Methodist church officiating.
