Obituary
Elizabeth Manning was born in Lanchester (sic) county, Pennsylvania, October 30, 1845, and died May 9, 1931, at the age of 85 years, six months and 18 days. She came with her parents to Decatur county, Iowa, and later moved to Ringgold county. In 1882 she was united in marriage to Bernard Gorman. To this union was born one child, Mrs. Henry R. Miller. They made their home on a farm east of Kellerton until 1908 when they moved to town. In her early years she confessed Christ as her savior and was a member of the Church of Christ. She gave a mother’s love and care to three step-children and two nephews, also the Bassett boys and reared to manhood her grandson, Lloyd Gorman. Her husband, six brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her death one daughter, Mrs. Henry R. Miller, one step-daughter, Mrs. T.J. Mahan, five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services were held from the Christian church, conecuted by Rev. Young, and burial was in the Maple Row cemetery.
