    Lillian (Bessette) Dumais

    LILLIAN (BESSETTE) DUMAIS, 82, of 148 Chaplin St., a homemaker, died yesterday at home after an illness.

    She was the wife of the late Louis E. "Pete" Dumais. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Arthur and Adrienne (Morrissette) Bessette, she had lived in Central Falls before moving to Pawtucket in 1960.

    She was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church.

    She leaves a son, Norman L. Dumais Sr. of Pawtucket; two daughters, Sister Joan Dumais, SSJ, of West Hartford, Conn., and Suzanne R. Dumais of Swansea; a sister, Jean Bourgeois of Pawtucket; and three grandsons and two great-grandsons. She was the sister of the late Irene and Herve Bessette, Edna Tetreault and Beatrice Perron.

    The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Cecilia Church, Central Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

    Adrienne Bessette

    Adrienne Bessette, 96, of 148 Chaplin St., who with her husband operated the Central Falls Laundry, died Sunday at the Rose Cottage Health Center, Central Falls. She was the widow of Arthur Bessette.

    Born in Arthabaska, Canada, a daughter of the late Honore and Olympe (Brochu) Morrissette, she lived in Pawtucket for the past four years. She lived in Central Falls for 80 years.

    Mrs. Bessette and her husband owned the Chestnut Street business for more than 35 years. It is now operated by their son, Herve Bessette of Central Falls. She was a member of St. Anne's Sodality of Notre Dame Church, Central Falls.

    Besides her son she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Dumais, with whom she lived, and Mrs. Jeanne Bourgeois of Duncanville, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Paquette of Central Falls; eight grandchildren, 16 great-granchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

    The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 20 Ledge St., Central Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 at Notre Dame Church, Broad Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
