Helene Bassett
Helene Bassett of Sag Harbor, formerly of Mesa, Arizona, died at Westhampton Care Center on December 22 at the age of 87. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on January 21, 1912, she was the daughter of John Joseph Fisher and Eleanor Miller.
Mrs. Bassett was a seamstress and owner of a lapidary shop in Arizona. In addition, she had also helped create costumes for Guild Hall in East Hampton.
She was the wife of Reginald Bassett, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Bassett is survived by children Judith Rana of Sag Harbor and David Ross of East Hampton. She is also survived by grandchildren Ralph Rana, Jr. of Sag Harbor, Deborah Tagliavia of Preston, Md., and Michael Rana of Sag Harbor.
Services were held on December 27 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home, the Rev. James Cardone officiating. Interment followed at Oakland Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
