Thomas Earl Bass
Thomas Earl (Sam) Bass, 69, of Springfield, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at his home with family and loved ones at his side.
Sam enjoyed life, friendships, nature (taking care of birds and his dogs) and loved watching sports and Nascar.
Born April 9, 1941, in Lumberton, NC, he was the son of the late Herman Sears Bass and Eva Mae (Baxley) Bass, and the brother of the late Elliott Bass, Geneive Stein, and Monafaye Summers. He was a retired member of the U.S. Air Force where he served 22 year in active duty. He had resided in Bay County since 1980.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carol Bass; son: Kevin Bass; daughters: Rebecca Ann Bass of New Jersey and Samantha Lee Bass of Springfield, Fla.; two grandsons: Jeremy Menker and Ethan Matthew White; and one granddaughter: Kyla Elaina Lorece Bennett.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Eastside Assembly of God, 3610 E. 14th Street, Panama City, FL. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bobby Thompson and the Rev. Dewey Myers officiating.
