Bettie Bass
Bettie A. Bass, 89, died November 20, 2011, at her home. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and came to Okeechobee from Kenansville 20 years ago. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Yeehaw. Survivors include her sons, Larry Wayne Bass and Timothy Joe Bass; and daughters, Claudia Arnold and Cheryl Parrott, all of Okeechobee; sister, Lucille Coats of Owassa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Bass; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services: Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., November 25 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Yeehaw. Interment will follow at Kenansville Cemetery. Bettie A. Bass, age 89, of Okeechobee passed away November 20, 2011 at her home. She was born November 15, 1922 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She came to Okeechobee from Kenansville twenty years ago. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Yeehaw. She married Claud Bass December 11, 1940. Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Bass and two great-great- grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Larry Wayne Bass and Timothy Joe Bass (Phyllis); two daughters, Claudia Arnold (Monroe) and Cheryl Parrott (Boyd) all of Okeechobee; five grandchildren, Alysia, Arinda, Anthony, Stephanie and Roger; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Coats of Owassa, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday, November 25, 2011 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church of Yeehaw with Brother Rex Turman officiating.
