Beverly Bassett
Beverly Jean Bassett 83, of Columbus, Montana, passed away on August 23, 2025 at Meadowlark Assisted living, where she had happily resided since August 2024. A Memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 2:00 pm, at Stoddard Funeral Home, in Greeley, Colorado.
She was born Beverly Jean Mercer on July 25, 1942 to Alberta and Bud Mercer. She met Russell Lee Bassett while working at a local diner in Woodrow, Colorado. They were married in September of 1961, and they celebrated 39 years together. To this union three children were born. After raising her children, she worked full-time for many years at the R&B Supermarket in Kersey, Colorado and then many years at King Soopers in Greeley, Colorado, until she retired.
Those who knew her will remember her beautiful smile, and her playful and generous nature.
Beverly is survived by her children Rodney (Gail) Bassett of California, Becky (Wade) Wagner of Montana, and Bonita Bassett of Colorado. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chelsea (Tim) Haapapuro, William Wagner (Sky), and Weston Wagner, her 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Albert and Alvin Mercer and one sister, Bonnie Barber, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Wesley, both her parents, a sister, Betty Mussmann and a brother, Dale Mercer.
