  Notes	Surrey Advertiser, Wednesday, 2 October 1918 Death Of Mr. William Bassett The death took place on Friday afternoon last week, at his home, 78, Stoke-road, Guildford, of Mr. William Bassett. Deceased, who was 72 years of age, had been ill for some months past, was a native of Kensington, and came to Guildford at the age of 19 years. He had lived in the town ever since, with the exception of two years he spent at Bedford. For 30 years he had resided at the same address, where he carried on his business as photographer till illness prevented him, and he was a member of the Guildford Institute, and had been a sidesman of Christ Church for many years up to the time of his death. He leaves a widow and eight children ? six sons and two daughters. Two of the former are in the Army, and another is in America. The funeral takes place today (Wednesday), and a service will be held at Christ Church at 3 p.m., followed by the interment at Stoughton Cemetery.
