Thomas Edward Stretton, 95, of Old Turnpike Road died last night in Athol Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stretton was born in Birmingham, England, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stretton. A retired self-employed plumber, he was the husband of Vinetta A. (Bassett) Stretton, who died in 1961. He leaves one son, W. Alfred Stretton of this town; three daughters< Mrs. Una O. Gardner of Easton, Mrs. Lillian V. Thompson of Salisbury, and Mrs. Gladys A. Devlin of Amesbury, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 70 Pleasant St., Winchendon. The Rev. Clinton A. Condict will officiate. Burial will be in Lawrence Brook Cemetery. There are no calling hours. It is requested that flowers be omitted.
