Lieut. Marlon Bass Names Commander Of Civil Air Patrol
Lieut. Marlon J. bass, of the Civil Air Patrol, has been appointed Commander of the Covington County Composite Squadron.
Announcement of the appointment of Bass was made by the Alabama Civil Air Patrol with headquarters in Birmingham.
Bass succeeds Lieut. Shelton Baugh, a building supplies representative, who has been transferred to Mobile.
The Covington Squadron now has 24 senior members and 26 cadets.
Teen-age boys and girls between 14 and 18 who are interested in joining the cadets are asked to contact Bass by telephone after 6 p.m. at 388-4292 in Gantt. Bass is employed in the Parts Machine Department at Alatex.
Bass has been a member of the patrol since it organization two years ago.
Civil Patrol cadets meet each Thursday night in the Opp municipal Building between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Senior members hold their meetings each second and fourth Thursday nights at the same location between the hours of 7:30 and 9 p.m.
