Robert M. Bass Sr. Retired Foreman
Mr. Robert M. Bass Sr., 72, of Route 5, died Friday, June 23, 1995, at Vencor Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Southside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edward Matthews and Dr. Ben Glosson officiating. Burial was in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery, with full military honors.
Mr. Bass, a native of Telfair County, had lived in Jeff Davis County for the past 40 years and had served in the Navy in World War II. He was formerly employed with Thomas Milling Co. as a foreman in the feed processing department. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Shrouder Bass; six daughters, Jean Ivey, Augusta, Robbie Blackburn, Atlanta, Sandra Tinsley, Pelham, Debra Jones, Kathy Crosby and Cristy Rowland, all of Hazlehurst; a son, Buddy Bass, Hazlehurst; two sisters, Nellie Brewer and Eva Mae Oliver, both of Hazlehurst; and 16 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were military honor guards from Fort Stewart.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
