CAMDEN ? Mrs. Vera Mae Woods Bass, 39, of Camden was killed Monday in a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 79 south of Highland Park Road here, just inside the southern city limits.
Police officers said Mrs. Bass was traveling north on Highway 79 and collided with a tractor-trailer truck driven by Bobby Gene Waters, 37, of Stephens.
Officers said Waters? truck was traveling south and jack-knifed when he attempted to slow down behind two other vehicles.
The truck also hit the preceding car drive by Mrs. Anita Pigue Lemond, 34, of Fort Worth, Tex.
The first car in the line of traffic was turning left and was driven by Huey P. Lomace of Camden. Lomace was not hurt.
Waters and Mrs. Leomond?s daughters, Diane Lynn, 10, and Lelane, 3, were treated at Ouachita Hospital and released.
Mrs. Bass is survived by her husband, James Bass; a son, Jimmy Bass of Camden; a daughter, Lillie Bass of Camden; a brother, Roy Woods, and a sister, Mrs. Talmadge Haley of Camden.
Funeral will be by Camden Funeral Service.
