Golden Wedding J.D. Bass and Wife Open House
Highly Esteemed Old McKinney Couple To Be Honored
Open house will be observed from 7 until 10 o?clock this (Monday) evening at home of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Bass, 804 Tucker street, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Bass were united in marriage to the bride?s home about four miles west of McKinney. Mr. Bass is one of our city?s most widely known business men and cotton merchants. Mrs. Bass is active in church affairs. They are one of our city?s most estimable couples.
Mrs. Bass was in the first graduation class of Texas Christian university. She is also one of the organizers of the Woman?s Missionary society of the First Christian church serving as its first president. Their children, Mr. and Mrs. U.A. Saunders, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bass, Hugh Bass and wife and their grandchildren, cordially invited friends and acquaintances of their parents to call during the open house hours this evening at any convenient time to enjoy the occasion with them.

First TCU Coed Graduate Dies In Collin County
Mrs. Lou Carr Bass, 82, mother of Hugh Bass of Dallas and pioneer of Collin County, died Sunday morning at her home in McKinney. She was the wife of the late Jonas D Bass, and was the first girl graduate of Texas Christian University in 1879.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eula Saunders, McKinney; two sons, Hugh Bass, Dallas, and Richard Bass, McKinney; a sisters, Mrs. Dickey Johnston, McKinney; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church of McKinney, of which she was a member. The Rev. C.S. Weaver, pastor, and Dr. E.M. Waite, president of Texas Christian University, will conduct the service. Burial will be at McKinney.
