Pontiac Deaths
George Bass
George Bass, 75, 355 East Frank street, died Sunday at his home after an illness of six years.
He was born in Thompsonville, Ill., Aug. 15, 1868, and married Mary King. He attended school in Franklin, Ill., and had lived in Oakland county 26 years, most of the time in Pontiac. Mr. Bass operated a chain of grocery stores.
Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Joseph R. of Pontiac, Sidney W. of Detroit, Elmer G. of Milwaukee and Mrs. Bertha Verbeck of Birmingham, with whom he made his home; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Huntoon Funeral home, Pontiac with burial at Perry Mt. Park.
