He was born in Duplin County, the son of the late Jesse Bass and Jamie Bell Gore Bass. He is survived by two sons: Lavern Bass of Tabor City, Ricky Dale Turbeville of Green Sea; two daughters: Tammy Dorman of Tabor City; Joan Stilton of Richmond, VA; one sister, Maurice Watts of Tabor City; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, at 4 p.m. in the Inman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City. A Service of Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City.
