Funeral services for James Hubert Bass, 59, of Rt. 2, Newton Grove, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hopewell Methodist Church by the Rev. P.C. Yelverton and the Rev. Bobby Bazen. Burial will be in the Grand View Memorial Gadens. Mr. Bass died Saturday morning in Sampson County Memorial Hospital. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Trudy Denning Bass; three sons, John E.l Bass of Roanoke Rapids, Charles Bass of Wilmington and Merle Bass of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Savage of Arapahoe; three brothers, Vernon Bass of Dunn, Oakel Bassf Durham and Leo Bass of Fuquay-Varina; and five grandchildren.
