  Notes	News and Observer Raleigh, North Carolina Friday, June 1, 1951 Oliver H. Bass Dunn - Oliver H. Bass, 78, of Newton Grove, Sampson County farmer, died early Thursday morning in Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He had been seriously ill for the past two weeks. Mr. Bass was a natve and lifelong resident of Sampson County, son of the late James C. and Martha Jones Bass. He was a member of the Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Shady Grove Church. The Reverend Minot E. Godwin and the Reverend Richard Rhea Gammon will officiate. Burial will be in the Bass Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eula Jackson Bass of Newton Grove, Route 2; five sons, Harvey Bass of Dunn, Felton Bass, Aaron Bass and Oscar Bass, all of Dunn, Route 1, and Ideman Bass of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Baggett of Dunn and Mrs. Oscar Tew of Dunn, Route 1; two brothers Walton Bass and Braston Bass of Newton Grove, Route 2; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Jackson of Dunn, Route 5, and Mrs. John A. Daughtry of Clinton, Route 1; 26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
