Bass, 68, a resident of Mercedes for the past six months, died here Saturday in the home of his son, James M. Bass. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Joe E. Cagle of Rio Hondo and Mrs. H.B. Jay of Wac, three sons, James M. of Rio Grande City, Horace D. and Frank M., both of Mercedes, and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 5 in the Kreidler-Pride Chapel in McAllen, with Rev. Leslie K. Gaylord of the Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery at McAllen.
