Jack Burford, 85, husband of Roberta Bassett Burford, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.
He was born January 9, 1928, in Owen County to the late Thomas C. and Christian Watson Burford. Jack was retired owner and operator of Jack Burford Chevrolet; he was a Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family, University of Kentucky basketball, Chevrolet automobiles, and he also enjoyed traveling.
Other than his loving wife, Roberta, he is survived by his son John (Samantha) Burford, one daughter Cathy (Raymond) Cornelison, both of Richmond; three brothers Lewis Hilton Burford of Lexington, KY, Franklin Watson Burford of Owenton, KY and Eugene Clark Burford of Versailles, KY. He is also survived by four grandchildren John Cornelison, Makenzie Burford, Mallory Burford and Marley Burford.
Funeral services for Jack will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday February 15, 2013 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Hamilton, Joe Kidwell, Barney Kinman, Benjy Kinman, Lloyd Vannarsdall and Frank Shoop. Honorary Pallbearer will be Joe Kirkpatrick.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday February 14, 2013 at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.
