  Notes	The Bedford Weekley Mail, Indiana, Friday, 20 November 1908 Hugh Bass Dead Well Known Machinist Succumbs to Inflammation of the Bowels Hugh Bass, residing on West 17th street, between K and L streets, died Thursday afternoon at 5:30 o?clock, of inflammation of the bowels. Mr. Bass had been ill with fever for the past two weeks, and three days ago inflammation developed. He was a native of Marion township and was born near Mitchell. He moved to Bedford about twelve years ago and had been employed at Dugan?s Cut Stone works as a machinist. He is survived by a widow. Mr. Bass was 47 years of age and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The funeral occurred Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o?clock, interment at Green Hill under auspices of the Odd Fellows lodge. The services were conducted at the residence by Rev. Melvin Putnam at 1:15 o?clock.
